Molecular Separation Technology (MST)

Molecular Separation Technology (MST) Generation 2 provides an effective method for removing suspended solids from both gaseous and liquid fluid streams without the need for filter appliances.

The MST device has no moving parts, and can work with the existing system pressure at either high or low pressure.   The operating range is optimal between 100 psig and 900 psig, but the MST has demonstrated good separation performance below 100 psig as well.

How MST Works

The patented internal design uses the principles of hydro-cyclone technology and facilitates extremely high g-forces within the device.  These forces cause the heavier molecules to migrate to the outer core of the fluid stream, providing 95+% separation of suspended particles larger than 5 microns.  Large particles up to 1/2 inch can also be targeted for separation with slight modifications of the internal clearances. Also, the device can be fabricated from a variety of materials to ensure compatibility with the existing system.

Why Use MST

With no moving parts in the device, the system maintenance is very low, with little to no operator adjustment required.  In addition the device can be easily scaled to adapt to system flow rates and/or plumbing requirements with virtually no change in performance.
